I felt called in October 2021 to step up from my private and business life and re-enter into a political channel - again. Recent developments in our country have been calling for drastic change!. I went into retreat, researched and wrote on new political concepts.
When we look closely and not get distracted by our consumer life, let’s face it, we are in a mess; in a multitude of crises.
I connect with the hardship of our people; sky-high housing and living costs, sickness in our communities, depression and isolation, covid related vaccine injuries, mandates driven job-losses, and terrible segregation in our communities and families.
And I connect with our environment: much of our growing soil is depleted and shows poor fertility, many rivers and streams are polluted – All in all a sad state of our affairs.
Our democracy has become corrupted by ideology and global control. We need to refresh our political landscape, address sound foundations and boundaries for our sovereignty, freedom and security.
With that we need a new paradigm in Parliament, so that the various MPs can be empowered public servants collaborating with each other in service to the people - and not being heavily controlled by their political party.
The signs are there to move up and beyond, to reach out and co-create positive change.
That is what the Democratic Alliance is there for: a vehicle for empowered political work in collaboration with other politicians and aligned parties.
Internal effective structures are paramount for good collaboration. In the past conflicts about the differences of values, policies or opinions have gotten in the way to be effective.
We promote a 'Unity in Diversity' between the different parties to foster unity, respect, - to value the differences amongst us and encourage the creative potential within us.
I see that a common-sense politics need to come back into the centre.
